So crime and an entire office of civil servants take the day off so Lindsay can squeeze out a little bundle of something or other.

We learn early on that Danny's two week suspension is up and yet Lindsay is freshly back from Montana, so how exactly Danny spent his two weeks off with her while she was in another state we're really not sure, but asked to suspend belief again.

Cut for Greater Good 5.23 spoilers )

ETA: half way through watching the show here, I learned that CBS leaked it on their website. Silly kids. I wonder if that will effect their ratings, or if there was some rhyme or reason to doing that.

ETA2: It's damn funny that they went out of their way to make mention that the kid looks like Danny, not the mother. ^_^ Lucky for the kid. Danny's the pretty one.

word has it, they'll be reintroducing some of the advanced customization (in particular, the ability to add a custom style sheet to an existing theme) so chances are good I'll be back in due time.

Finally saw Wolverine. Surprisingly I wasn't in a rush to see it. Not surprisingly, it wasn't what it could have been, and I'm zen about it. What can I say? I've been exercising my mettā towards it since it was in talks. It was a PG rated movie about a mutant killing machine with knives in his hands. I feel like I should be impressed anyone could tell that story with a PG rating in any capacity.

Even when X-Men 2 had just come out, all the way back in 2003 there had been talks of contracting Jackman for a Wolverine solo thing and even then, I didn't let myself get too twitterpatted with the idea. I mean I'd love to see some of my favorite wolverine comics on the silver screen but I knew that by the time they got to his movie all of this would be so franchised and what not that they'd be completely unable to resist the pull of marketing. Why would they do the stories justice and write an 18A story when they could write one for the kids and make twice the money from box office sales to merchandising opportunities.

The long and the short of it is; It wasn't great. But I wasn't surprised in my disappointment and somehow that softened the blow.

It was a couple days ago that I actually saw it but I'll try to recall some of my thoughts )

Really though, I just hadn't set my hopes too high anyway and ultimately what I got out of it was the realization of some rather iconic scenes from wolverine comics that were occassionally handled pretty well. Chiefly the experiment, which Jackman's nakedness didn't hurt either I am capping the fuck out of as soon as I can.

At least with comics, everything already has so many different "universes" or streams of continuity that I can just write this one off to being movieverse and ignore it.

I still love Wolverine like none other. Nothing's gonna change that. 'Nuff said.

ETA: I'll probably see Star Trek next. I'm kind of pumped for that one. Who doesn't appreciate Kirk/Spock in some respect? I foresee a rekindled ship-love in my future. :3

I was so stoked for dreamwidth :(

Now they've yoinked advanced style settings from free accounts --without warning mind you.

I probably wouldn't have signed up so quickly if I'd known. Especially with so little to offer in terms of styles as it is.

So this journal, as well as my others will likely remain in limbo until they either get enough styles to offer advanced customization to freebies again, or I some how find the funds to purchase a couple of these accounts, which isn't likely going to be soon now that we've been scorned like this.

Bye for now.

crosspost testing attempt #8

Sorry if some random and meaningless posts crop up here lately. I just got my dreamwidth accounts set up and I'm tinkering with getting them synced up with some other blogs & openID's. Unfortunately there's been some trouble concerning the styles and customization they offer and I probably won't be using it too heavily until they figure that out. Kind of a shame really. I was so stoked.

I have an invite code left if someone wants it Sorry, I'm also out of invites. I'll advertise again if I come into another.

My review from talk, plus some personal blog extras. ^_^

The episode is kind of a nice mix of my favorite characters, but towards the end it leans more heavily on Mac. That’s all right of course, but it’s kind of a shame since Hawkes' philosophies on racism were getting pretty interesting and then got nixed.

The crime itself wasn't the most difficult nut to crack, nor did it feel like it weighed heavily on the initial victim, but the underlying themes of the case brought some tension to the whole show that really brings out the best in the characters.

Cut for 5.22 - Yahrzeit & finale spoilers )

Here's my review from talk with a few edits

This episode might have been really intriguing if this wasn't the umpteenth time we've seen Mac take on the bigwigs the same way. cut for 'The Past, Present and Murder' spoilers )

something else I'd like to add )

Not that I suspect this will draw too much interest --Here's my review from talk!

Well the case didn't blow my socks off, but for the most part I'm still pretty keen on tonight's episode --I'll over look some suspended belief and minor plot holes because of someones ability to maintain a little continuity, and make use of some under-used characters.

Cut for 5.20-Prey Spoilers and One Big Finale Spoiler. )

I might start posting my occasional reviews from talk over here...Maybe, just in hopes of a better discussion. *snicker*

It's another one case week, which seems to be the norm these days, but I will give them credit for trying to branch out from the typical cases and remind us that NYC is home to more than just upper class white folks.
cut for NY spoilers and the rest of the review! )

Warning you about spoilers for tonight's ep here and under the cut.

Ummm ok. That was.. an episode. Blue flu, lots of interesting Adam. FAR to little Flack. Look, I'm sure there are a lot of good things to say about this episode but after having just seen it once so far here's all I'm left wondering about... )

ETA:And another thing!! )
